New Routes Malaga Airport 2011
There is great news for Malaga Airport with the announcement that more international flight destinations have been added fuelling positive feelings that this will be a huge boost to tourism in 2011.
The new routes include some extra traffic from eastern Europe with Blue Air leading the way by increasing flights from 3 to 4 a week from April 2011. In addition other airlines are reviewing the feasibility of adding new routes to the Malaga and the Costa del Sol such as Tez Air (a Russian airline operating from Turkey) and Tarom another Romanian airline operating out of Bucharest
Polish airlines have been urged to consider increasing flights during the winter months, which would give the Costa del Sol much needed tourism off season and in March low cost airline Ryanain will flights between Poland and Malaga with two flights per week from Krakow and two flights a week from Wroclaw.
A long haul flight will also be added to Malaga Airport's portfolio with Turkish Airlines operating a flight to Vietnam (with a connection at Istanbul)
All in all things are looking better for Malaga Airport and the Costa del Sol and it is hoped that these new routes and flights will help encourage other airlines to follow suit and add more flights and additional routes.
Ryan Air Boarding Passes
Spain has ruled that the charge levied by low cost airline Ryan Air on passengers who did not print out their own boarding cards is illegal.
Ryan Air angered numerous passengers with their 40€ charge for printing boarding paases however, Spain ruled that the responsibility for printing boarding passes had always laid with the airline.
A Ryan Air spokesman said "It is remarkable that a Spanish judge could possibly suggest that this agreement between Ryanair and its passengers was breaking international law."
